Steps

1Choose the face

Click or drag a portrait into Import Avatar Image. Or take one from Sample below it.

The Import Avatar Image panel of the Talking Avatar window, with a portrait loaded, the Crop / Rotate and Background buttons below it, and the Sample gallery underneath.

2Add the audio

On Import Audio, drag in a recording between 5 sec and 3 min. Use Trim if it runs long.

The Import Audio tab of the Talking Avatar window with an MP3 loaded, a playback bar reading 10 seconds, and Trim and Replace buttons.

3Or type a script instead

Switch to Text to Audio, type up to 1000 characters, and check Select a voice before you generate.

A voice is already chosen, so make sure its language matches what you typed. Click Change to swap it.

The Text to Audio tab of the Talking Avatar window with a script typed in and the Select a voice row showing the loaded voice and a Change button.

4Generate, then close the window

Click Generate. You can close the window while it works, and PowerDirector notifies you in the app and sends an email when it's done.

The Talking Avatar confirmation notice explaining that the video is being generated, that the window can be closed, and that a notification and an email will follow, with the OK button below.

We tested these steps in PowerDirector 365 version 25.0.7 on Windows.
