Three steps to fill in the tone sliders for a dull photo.

Updated Oct. 25, 2026 · 1 min read

Steps

1Click the wand to set the tone sliders

In the Tone section, click the small wand just above Exposure. PhotoDirector reads the photo and fills in the values.

The Tone section with the Tone checkbox and the wand above Exposure highlighted, every slider at 0

2Check and adjust the new values

Every slider stays editable, so change any value you disagree with. To see what changed, use Before and After above the canvas to split the view. To start over, click the reset arrow at the top right of the section.

The Tone sliders filled in with values, the Tone checkbox and reset arrow, and the Before and After menu above the canvas highlighted

3Export the photo

When the tone looks right, click Export to save the photo.

Library and Adjust with the filled-in Tone sliders and the Export button highlighted at the top of the window

We tested these steps in PhotoDirector 365 version 18.0.10 on Windows.
