Steps

1Set a clip's volume

Drag the white line along the clip's audio track. For a change partway through, hold Ctrl and click the line to add keyframes. Put one where the change starts and one where it ends, then drag the second.

2Match levels across clips

Open the Audio Mixer from the top left of the timeline and click Normalize at the bottom of the track's strip.

It needs more than one clip on that track. With a single clip, PowerDirector shows a dialog explaining why it cannot normalize the audio.

3Clean up noise, wind, or echo

Select the clip, click Edit above the timeline, and on the Audio tab click Enhance. Then select the tool for the problem and click its button. Use Speech Enhancement for traffic, AI Audio Denoise for hum and clicks, AI Wind Removal for wind, or AI DeReverb for echo.
